I dont know if you have read this all from the beginning but if you have 45 minutes to spare I think you may find it interesting. One entry in October 2018 was very useful to me and I began documenting my experiences around July 2019. I have had great fun using my WorkBee with the vectric software and love my machine to bits. 
Here are some place mats I made which took around 3 hours in total to make. You need to look at what you intend to carve with your router as I expect there will be some limitations with double sided work pieces. Have a look at the Vectric website and take advantage of their free software download. Not only can you use it for your designs but there is a vast library of tutorials to wander through. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them but be aware that I am entirely self taught and there are some pretty incredible wood workers using this forum.
