There are so many different ways to sharpen your woodturning tools. But, all you really want, is fast, repeatable sharpening that gets you back turning quickly. The Axminster Trade Ultimate Edge makes light work of sharpening. Its large catalogue of accessories and compatibility with many of the Tormek jigs make it ideal for the woodturner. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be compatible with the SE-77 jig which is the one used for plane and chisel blades on the Tormek. That particular jig will handle Japanese chisels with short, thick blades and it’s not clear whether on not the jig designed for the UE machine will accept them. I examined the jig in store last Saturday and I suspect that it won’t.
